Autoresponders are Powerful Marketing Tools!

Autoresponders are Powerful Marketing Tools!

Autoresponders, is another one of those valuable marketing tools, no marketer, can afford to be without. We must implement effective marketing tools frequently, to make this marketing journey as efficient as possible. By doing so, we will have more time to promote our business opportunities, close more sales, or maybe even take that much needed weekend get-a-way spring break, we all deserve.

Just what is an autoresponder anyway? "Think of an autoresponder as a personal mailing robot." Statistics show that it takes the normal individual at least 7 times to view a product of interest, before a final decision is made to either purchase the product or service, or to just say, "To Heck With It!" The odds of someone coming back to your web site seven times, without some form of encouragement, has a zero chance, of happening. This is where the autoresponder function becomes powerful. Set up a series of follow-up messages that will keep your information fresh in the users mind. Make sure you include some form of opt-in feature, for the users convenience.

Getting traffic to your site is difficult at best, so any tool we can use, to make this process easier, is worth the time spent to investigate the benefits this tool provides. This author is not recommending or suggesting any particular product here, just sharing some of the advantages of another, helpful, automated marketing tool.

Regardless of how many visitors click on your site everyday, if you can't, or don't follow up with the prospect, they will be lost forever. Those of us who have been in the business for awhile, knows how important it is to keep our name and business opportunity in front of the general public. Building relationships is what it's all about, and then turning, prospects into customers. An autoresponder is a tool that will successfully capture the users e-mail, and automatically start the process of following up with that individual at whatever intervals you set your system to respond, with your content in a series of automatic messages.

Most potential clients don't feel comfortable with an unsolicited phone call, or personal e-mail solicitation. This type of approach is a turn off to many good people, who could become good clients. We have to establish some form of rapport with the users, before such a direct approach will be accepted. By sending out a well written, non evasive, autoresponder message, several times over a period of weeks or months, the user begins to relate to your name, your company name and a certain amount of trust is formed in this approach, which will be extremely helpful, when you finally make that all important phone call, and introduce yourself personally for the first time. Don't forget to ask for the sale. A good plan, with a excellent presentation is worthless, if you don't ask for the order.

Let's talk more about the the autoresponder and how it works. Once you have found the autoresponder you're comfortable with, you simply write a series of maybe 7-10 well written, short explanations about your opportunity. Once the user responds to your offering, you merely include their e-mail in your mail list, and each week you can send them a newsletter with interesting information about your product, services, helpful hints, free marketing tools that are available and the list can go on and on. Offering some form of training is a powerful way, to get users to listen to what you have to say, in a controlled environment, which you control. I use an online conference room, to deliver this service. People are looking for free stuff, as well as discounts on thing they normally use everyday.

You can get really creative with different combinations of the ideas we mentioned above. Make your own list of ideas, looking at it from the standpoint of; if you were the potential client, and had an interest for more information about your product or service. Put yourself in the customers shoes, and you will become a better marketer very quickly.

With the broad range of features the autoresponder provides, you can literally set up an automated follow-up mail system that become one of your most powerful tools, because it's generating leads for you with users who are interested in more information, that otherwise you would probably never have reached otherwise. There's another simple explanation why the autoresponder is so effective. You are on auto-pilot with your communication on a scheduled basis with the user, keeping your information in front of the potential client, and when the right time evolves, the user will effortlessly, become your client.

There are numerous ways of getting users to sign up in your autoresponder messages. There are basic sign up forms, asking for an e-mail address and name only. This is a form commonly used, that is considered as an opt-in response. The user is telling you it's OK for you to send correspondence back via e-mail. They become a part of your list building process. This is where your future clients will come from.

Some marketers, use pop-ups, pop-unders, exit forms offering special benefits etc.. I don't like them and I don't use this type of forms, because I get irritated when a pop-up occurs when I'm looking at my e-mails, and immediately, I will click off that site. Use your own good judgement here. Experiment with different methods and see which one works the best for you.

In Summary: Using the autoresponder wisely, will allow you to get your business opportunity in front of more subscriber, for a longer period of time, giving you the advantage of building relationship with people you've shared information with, and will result in you, the marketer generating more income in the long run. If you're not using autoresponders, you're losing sales, and if you're losing sales, you're losing money. At least, commit to yourself and your future, to check out this simple, powerful marketing tool. You'll be glad you did.

Optimization Tips for Better Page Rank!

Optimization Tips for Better Page Rank!

The function of the search engines, is to provide traffic to any type of web site on the internet. The search engines doesn't discriminate against a site just because someone within the search staff, doesn't like a particular subject matter. Big business, small business, adult sites, or church sites must all follow the same guidelines (better known as algorithms) to get indexed and page ranked by the search engines. If your site is not optimized properly, you lose. This said, if you can't find your site online, then your chances of online success will never happen. If the search engines has not indexed your site, there is always a specific reason your site is not being found. If you don't have visitors to your site, your chances of making money online is little to none.

There are basically two ways you can get the job done. You can learn the process of online marketing, or you can hire a marketing specialist that will do the job for you. After your site is up and running, with visitors frequenting your site, and a steady stream of income, then most people will accept some responsibility in the marketing process, and start taking a more active role in their marketing process, using what they've learned from the professional to promote their own business opportunity. This is an excellent way to get your opportunity up and running effectively, plus, this gives the web site owner the choice to save some money regarding the ongoing expenses of marketing.

The duties, of search engine optimization (better know as SEO) is an ongoing process in any online promotion. This is a process which is designed to improve the search engine rankings of your web site. There are two way to get your message to the masses. One is by advertising with paid ads. Some of these ads are strictly paid advertisement, while others are on a bid basis. The other way to get recognized (which is the most solid way to build your business), is to follow the algorithms of the search engines and optimize your site to earn organic search engine page rankings. This type of strategy is what a Search Engine Optimization Specialist will follow to get your site to Top Positions on Google, and other fine search engines.

SEO companies and specialist will begin your campaign by, analyzing your web site, and reviewing the source codes of your site, making sure that there are no red flags to the search engines. Incomplete or questionable aspects of your site will create negative points against your web site in the eyes of the search engines, and your page rankings will drop. The goal of the specialist is to find these problem areas, and correct these problems, so you will be compliant with the algorithms of the various search engines. The balance here is critical, because, what may be the Google balance of optimization, is different than the balance of Yahoo or Bing. So optimizing, and meeting the criteria of one search engines doesn't necessarily mean you will have a better chance on one search engine compared to another search engines. The secret here, is to construct a well balanced web site, which meets the guidelines of the big three search engines. This is a delicate balance here, so seek the advise of your SEO marketing specialist if you need to.

A well planned SEO Campaign will include three major issues. Keyword Analysis, On Site Optimization and Off Site Optimization.

Keyword analysis should be conducted first. You or your specialist must select the relevant keywords for your particular web site. Each web site, marketing campaign or article is different, and the keywords for each type of marketing must be relative to your presentation.

When addressing your site optimization, your SEO professional will analyze your Title, Keywords, Meta Description and Content, to make sure your site is a well balanced presentation in the eyes of the search engines, as well as eye appealing, to the users who visit your site. If there are changes needed, that will enhance your possibility for a successful campaign, then your professional, should have your pre-authorization to make those online changes quickly. According to some experts, this phase of optimization accounts for about 40% of what search engine look for when ranking your site.

The development of inbound links, outbound links, reciprocal links, cross links etc., are considered offsite optimization. This accounts for about 60% of the importance of the algorithms the search engines are currently using. Increasing the quality of your links is far more important than the quantity to your web site. One relevant, quality link carries more weight with the search engines, than a hundred questionable links. To maximize your site exposure online, you must concentrate on getting as many relevant sites as possible to link back to your site.

Be cautious of accepting just any reciprocal link....choose your reciprocal links wisely and have a verification system that will track those reciprocal links, making sure they're active at all times. If those links become inactive, immediately delete the link. One common trick is, for a company to reciprocal link to you, and within a short time, they will drop your link. Then you would be linking to them, however, they would not be linking to you. That's not the way this process was designed and is totally unfair. Having a tracking system of some kind will help you keep a handle on this type of unethical practice.

In Summary: Choose your target market wisely, and make your campaign evolve around your target market. Spend as much time as needed, choosing the right keywords for your web site. Optimize your site, but don't over optimize your opportunity, for the search engines or the users. Last but not least, work on your linking, with precision, choosing who you link with, where you link to, and be extremely conservative with any reciprocal link you may accept. Watch out for the questionable reciprocal link scammer. Good luck in your marketing efforts.

Powerful Article Writing Tips!

Powerful Article Writing Tips!

In my articles I often write, about writing, and the benefits writing provides in your overall strategies of marketing. Writing is an acquired talent, that only comes from writing, and writing often. Most people admit, they don't know how to write. I totally understand how you feel, I felt the same way a few years back when I got involved with online marketing. I had the priviledge of setting under some intense training by the SEO Master himself, Butch Hamilton. One of points Butch emphasied was; you must learn to write. In every class this issue was emphaized over and over again. "You learn to write....by writing." I didn't realize then, but I understand now, how important writing has been to my online success. I started writing, exactly as I was thinking, and found I could express my personal feeling about any issue. The personal satisfaction that writing gave me, can't be explained in spoken words.

I learned quickly that writing short articles with good relevant content, I could target a specific audience for the merchandise, I was trying to market online. I found that providing good information about my product, was one of the reason I was getting more visitors to my sign-up page. I started making money online, all the things I had only dreamed about up till now, was becoming a reality. I contribute this succes to writing.

By doing a simple personal survey of my results, I found that the title, and the first few words of the content, was where I was generating a fair amount of my traffic. If a title is not relevant, and the first paragraph of your article isn't compeling enough to capture the users attention, then the user will not finish reading your article past the first paragraph or so. From the first few words of your article, to about 250-300 words is what most people will read, before they will make a choice. They will either click off your information, because it's not relevant to the title, or you have captured their interest in that short period of time and they will then finish your reading your information and sign up for your business opportunity. This whole process of getting their attention, creating a interest to read further, cultivating a desire for your product or service and finally making that all important choice to take action and purchase what you have to offer.

When writing and article, it is imperative to use keywords and keyword phrases in your content that will describe your opportunity to your targeted autience. If you are an individual who really enjoys writing, then you already possess a huge advantage over most of us. However, if you can't put your thoughts on paper, you might want to consider using a recorder to capture your thoughts. Record yourself asking yourself a question that a user might ask if they were interested in your business opportunity. Then answer that question, as you would, if you were face to face or maybe on the phone with your potential client. Then play the recording back to yourself, make an outline of the points covered, then use that outline to compile a very effective article. Try this a couple of times and you will see that the process of writing good copy, has just become a lot simplier.

Record yourself during an interview, is priceless. You will get a great education on how your presentation really went. If you had a successful outcome and made the sale from your interview, you may be able to pick up some very important tips, that will help you in futher presentations. With the information you acquire from this type of training, you will be able to fine tune your marketing skills very quickly. Many times you can use this information, to generate multiple articles from one session. Use any combination of what we're talking about here, to gain the ability, of writing good relevant keyword content for your website or articles. Publish your articles in several article directories is a powerful way to promote your ideas.

Once you start writing articles, don't worry about your opinion, of how good your articles may be. Some one will enjoy your writings, and your journey of article marketing has just begun. It's just another way to generate multi streams of income. That's what this whole gig, is all about.

Always provide a link back to the homepage of your website, or sign-up page. Using alt tags is a great way to direct potential clients where you want them to go, without putting a "click here" for information link. Many people, consider "click here" as a caution flag, and will go no further in your article. Pointing them in the right direction with an alt tag, is a powerful alternative.

Writing won't build your business overnight, however, I feel that writing consistently, is one of the most effective ways to get users to keep coming back to your articles for additional information. Writig sincere, well written, keyword rich articles, will drive traffic to your site and sign up page. Isn't it about time, you add one more effective marketing tool to your marketing toolbox? If you haven't tried article submissions as one of your marketing strategies, may I recommend you start writing today. What a rewarding feeling when you see the results, this type of marketing can really boost your overall online success.

Building a Friendly Web Site!

Building a Friendly Web Site!

Building a well designed web site is only part of building your online business. Your site must be user friendly, as well as search engine friendly. The users look at a site on the surface, focusing on visual aspects of the site including pictures, flash etc., however, the search engines look at the source code of the site and uses that information for ranking your site on the internet.

There is a balance we must consider here. we must make our site appealing to the user, but also the search engine spiders. The cosmetics of the site is strictly for eye appeal to the user, however, we must make sure there's plenty of relevant content in our site to get our message across to the reader. The search engines weighs that relevant content, the linking within the site, the keywords and may other critical parts in their algorithm, so that your site will be indexed properly. You should build you site in HTML format, because it's easier for the search engines spiders to read. By including a sitemap in your site, the search engines will find this vital information much quicker.

Keywords play a crucial role in the successful indexing for your site by the search engines. Finding the right keywords or keyword phrases is one of the first things you must focus on. When I first started on line, I would literally spend several hours per day, for two or three days, searching for exactly the right keywords for the campaign I was about to pursue. Even then, I would miss some very important keywords and have to add additional keywords as time went by. I found that by looking at my competitors sites, I could get some excellent ideas of what keywords they were using to get good page ranking. Using the most popular keywords may not be the best course of action when trying to gain page rank. Sometimes a less popular keyword or keyword phrase, can be more effective. Consider using, keyword variations, such as plurals, synonyms and hyphenated words.

It is recommended that you include, relevant keywords in the title of your site, meta tag description, as well as in the content of your page. These keywords must be positioned in a way that will make the text flow, with relevant information about your business opportunity. You should not use more than 5-7% of keywords, in the content section of your site. Using more keywords than this recommended ratio, may be considered as spam, and the search engine will penalize you substantially, or maybe even ban your site altogether. Again, a word of caution here, spread your keywords throughout your content area of your site, and maintain the recommended percentages we discussed earlier, to avoid points off for keyword stuffing.

Once you have constructed your web site, and your comfortable with the appearance of the site, now comes the fun part of this whole process. Promoting your site and earning Top Positions on Google and other search engines. It is recommended that you hand index your site to at least the three major search engine. Google, Yahoo and Bing are the most popular engines, and most of the other search engines use the information from the big three databases, to position your site with the best page rank possible. These algorithms are very technical, so don't try to understand their whole system before taking the plunge. By the time you learn all the particulars of how algorithms work, the search engine will change the process again. They change their structure frequently, to avoid the more knowledgeable marketers, with an unfair advantage over less informed web site owners. Follow the basic guidelines of the search engines as we're discussing here, and you shouldn't get into any trouble.

Once you've followed the process of building your site correctly and published it live online, don't get excited if your site doesn't appear immediately online. It may take weeks, or even months before you see your site appearing on the web. This is particularly true if you are using a brand new domain. Search engines like aged domains, that have been around for awhile. This gives the engines a certain amount of trust in the longevity of your web site. Don't despair....this is just part of the process.

The three main meta tags are: The Title Tag, the Keyword Meta Tag, and the Description Meta Tag. By following the simple suggestions we've talked about here today, you will see some important changes in your popularity with the search engines rather quickly.

This is a never ending learning process, however, it will only be, as good as you make it. Commit to learning how marketing works, and it will be extremely rewarding, both in the mind.....and bank account. Good Luck in your new venture of online marketing.

Blogging Your Way to Profitable Marketing!

Blogging Your Way to Profitable Marketing!

Blogging has become an important marketing tool, that many search engine optimization specialist are incorporating into their everyday marketing strategies. In my SEO Consulting business, I talk to people all the time who have no clue what the purpose of a blog is, and can't fathom how a blog, will enhance their presence on the internet.

Technorati is an Internet search engine for searching blogs. By June 2008, Technorati was indexing 112.8 million blogs and over 250 million pieces of tagged social media, and was seeing about 120,000 new weblogs being created worldwide each day. That's about 1.4 blogs created every second of every day. I'm sure these figures has grown substantially since these stats was published.

First of all, I think we need to establish a common knowledge here, of what a blog really is. When in doubt of the meaning of a term used on the internet, I always refer to Wikipedia for their input. The following is a quote from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

"A blog (a contraction of the term "web log") is a type of web site, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability of readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (Art blog), photographs (photoblog), videos (Video blogging), music (MP3 blog), and audio (podcasting). Microblogging is another type of blogging, featuring very short posts."

As you can see, blogging is a very popular way to get information about your product or services, in front of massive amounts of potential users. Not only will you expose users to your opportunity, but the search engines as well, which are constantly looking for good keyword rich content. Good relevant content, is what the search engine spiders are looking for, and will index that information into their databases to provide information to people who are using their services to query a particular subject matter.

There's all kinds of subject matter discussed in blogs. Some use blogging as a media to express their personal opinions. Whether their opinion is important to other people, or not, really doesn't matter. Someone will always read your blog. Some use blogging to share photos with family and friends. That's OK to. Some use blogging to promote their beliefs and political feelings. With this type of media, people can leave comments, regarding any subject you want to talk about. I think you're beginning to see the tremdous possibilities, you can enjoy by blogging.

Recently online marketer, have seen how powerful this type of media can be when used correctly. I personally, post to 47 different blogs each and everyday. I am providing new content to each of these blogs with information about various aspects of online marketing. My business as an SEO Consultant has exploded with the use of blogs. Many of these blogs are syndicated and are picked up by article directories who publish my information to thousands of other directories, for free. I include links pointing back to my primary business site in each of these post on each blog. I also, put a link in my primary business site to all of my blogs. Blogging is one of my favorite ways to get exposure to a broader base of people, rather than some of the traditional methods of promoting on line.

By just creating a blog, and occasionally posting to the blog, is not enough. You must post to your blog on a regular basis and promote your blog, each time you post new content. There are numerous methods of promoting your business opportunities, however, I have found that promoting my blogs on my web site, as well as, promoting my web site on my blogs, has been an excellent way to get Top Positions On Google and other popular search engines.

The more you promote your blogs, the more people will see the quality of information you provide, and will come back time and time again for information regarding various topics. In essence, you have become the authority for information with that user. Take advantage of that opportunity, by making it easy for a person to contact you for additional information.

Don't under estimate the power of article directories. These directories allow you to place yours links in the bio section of their formats. Some of these directories allow both HTML and NON-HTML in the bio sections, offering information to different types of information services. This scenario will help generate one way links to your site. This is an excellent way to generate some good PR for your blog site.

The secret to successful blogging is, writing relevant, keyword, rich content about your product or services. We've said it before and it's worth saying again. "Content is King" If you don't know how to express yourself by writing, then learn to write. You learn to write.....by writing. By learning this important part of marketing, you can blog your way all the way to the bank. If you don't want to write, or don't want to secure the services of someone else to write for you, then this concept will not work for you. Consider passing this information on to someone else. Good Luck in your endeavors of profitable blogging.

New to Internet Marketing - Need Help?

New to Internet Marketing - Need Help?

When I first started to market on the internet, no one told me all the different things I would need learn, to become a successful online marketer. Had they told me, I would have probably looked for something totally different to keep me busy in my retirement years. I was probably one the most computer challenged individual, you've ever talked to. I knew how to turn the computer on and off and play a few games, answer an email, and that was about it.

If seemed like everyone I talked to, was encouraging me to get my own web site and market my products online. My background was in marketing and sales which everyone thought would be a great help to me, however, I found that knowing how to sell doesn't mean a thing online, unless you have visitors coming to your site, to look at your business opportunity.

I learned quickly, there was more to this whole process, than putting together a basic web site, and having some one to put it live on the internet for me. I quickly learned that after the site is built, the work just begins. There is a whole lot of different strategies that I eventually had to implement into my online marketing, that I had absolutely no clue of how to do it, or why it was important. I thought to myself, I know how to sell, but that wasn't my online problem. The problem was that, nobody was visiting my site. Finally, it dawned on me, that unless I figured out how to do this marketing process, that I was just wasting my time and a lot of money on worthless programs. I had two choices; either learn the process, or to pay someone who knew how to make it work, and pay that company or individual for their expertise.

First of all, I needed to understand how to identify the differences between my site, and my competitors web sites. People were visiting their sites; Why? What were my competitors doing that I wasn't. I knew I could sell with the best of them, I've done it for four decades, and won all kinds of trips around the world. I finally decided, it wasn't anything to do with selling, it was all in the way the web site was constructed. I learned that it wasn't only the information the users was looking at, that counted, but, it was also the source codes, that the search engines look at. I had no idea there had to be a balance that included both the user and the search engines for me to get results. In previous articles, we've discussed the differences between what the user looks at, and what the search engine look at. Take the time and read about these differences.

Now the hard work I had to face, and the real chores was about to begin. I've always been one, that likes to look at what makes it all tick. The more I looked the more confused I got. After many months of struggling, trying to learn, studying, making changes etc. and still was not getting anywhere and decided that it was time to do something different in my approach. I looked and looked online, and finally found someone who made a lot of sense in his approach to this whole process, called internet marketing. This guy could also prove that he had good page rankings to verify he knew what he was doing. He was a Search Engine Optimization Master. I had no clue what that all meant either. When I talked with him, he would tell me of all the chores he went through everyday to make his sites and the sites of his clients, earn Top Positions On Google. I secured his services quickly, listened to what he told me to do, and it all started to fall into place like a giant puzzle.

There's two distinct ways you can get this job done. One, is to learn the process, and do it yourself, which take an incredible amount of time, or you can secure the services of a qualified SEO specialist, who has a track record. By using my SEO expert, I literally exploded my business and salvaged my dreams of online marketing. I'm not going to brag about how much money I make, that's personal. Let me say it this way....I make an excellent return for myself and my clients, for the time I spent, and the efforts that I have put forth to learn this whole process. If I can do it....anyone can.

Having the desire, determination and a good mind set, you to can make your marketing dreams come true. The business of online marketing is right now in it's infancy, and those who learn the process correctly, will the the new dot com millionaires of tomorrow.

You can gain a vast amount of knowledge, by searching online for articles, that cover a multitude of marketing tips and ideas that will help you once you acquire the basics of this rewarding concept. One of the most important things you must learn is; how to write information articles that will be so compelling, they will make the users, want your product or services. I invite you to read some of my recent articles, that will explain this process in greater detail.

By writing articles with well researched, strongly worded, informative information and posting those articles in blogs, forums, article directories and a host of other powerful sources, you will see good results rather quickly. Not only are the users looking for this type of information, but the search engine are always looking for relevant, keyword rich content on any subject, for their databases.

Do some research here, and get informed, about the things we've talked about here today. Once you find your niche market, and work up a plan that you want to pursue, then start the process of building your own business online. Get the help of the professionals, if you need to. You'll be more than happy with the benefits, that working for yourself can provide.

Choose Your SEO Expert Wisely!

Choose Your SEO Expert Wisely!

SEO, which is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization, is fast becoming one of the most popular services being offered online. For a web site to progress in page ranking on the search engines, it is imperative to have your site optimized to the maximum. Not all users online have the expertise to optimize their sites. The question is often ask; "If I don't know how to maximize my site, what are the alternatives? Your answer is rather simple....if you can't do it, or don't want to do it, then you must hire the services of an expert who specializes in optimization services.

The SEO expert you decided to use, should be able to point you to some sites that they have optimized for your review. The best gauge here would be, where do those site, stand with the search engines. If they are referring you to a site on page 89 of the engines, would you think that their optimization results have be satisfactory? I doubt it. If the site they are referring you to, is not on page one or two of Google, Yahoo or Bing, you may not want to give that expert a second thought.

Since there are no recognized organizations that are accredited to issue some type of a completion certificate in SEO, then it become the responsibility for each individual to check out what kind of results the so called expert has obtained with other web sites. Don't expect your expert to give you the names of his contacts at a particular company, that information falls under the category of client privilege, however, you can ask to see some web sites that your expert has brought to a high page rank with the search engines. If the sites aren't on page one or two of Google, then the credentials of that expert may not be acceptable for your consideration.

In addition, your expert should have a knowledge of how the search engines works, and what the engines look for to position your site in their algorithms. You may have a good looking site, and your page ranking is going nowhere. Your expert should be able to look at your source code, and with some suggested changes, just might make your site so much more search engine friendly. If your expert has the knowledge of how the search engine mechanism works for indexing and searching criteria, then some minor changes may be all that needs to be changed, to make marketing your product acceptable, not only to the search engines, but to the users as well.

Your expert should know how various changes, will affect what happens with your site with the search engines. Since there are different algorithms with different search engines, you expert should know what needs to be done to optimize your site accordingly. There is a vast amount of information in the databases of the search engines, and you're site is just another part of this vast array of data. Your only option for better page rankings, is to have your site optimized the very best it can be, or you'll never see your site rank well with any engine.

You need to know some HTML code, have some scripting knowledge or some CSS, or you will have a beg problem, getting your site optimized correctly. You will have to make some changes to your source code using these features to comply with the W3C guidelines which is used world wide. These skills are totally different from the skills necessary, to build an attractive web site.

As we've pointed out in recent articles, writing good content is one of the most important things you must conquer. You learn to write....by writing. Sharing your writing in many different venues. Your information in any of the different places you post must be keyword rich, relevant content about your product or services. In this process you need to become accustom to writing, rewriting, proofing and posting to multiple blogs, forums, article directories, classified ads, message boards etc. Each of these marketing sources, require the same basic requirements for writing effectively.

The more you hone your skills of writing, and the more you submit your written words, the easier it will become, to write good copy. Success is not going to happen overnight....it's an ongoing process for the rest of your marketing career. Once you start writing, it will become an enjoyable process, and your abilities will expand to writing about other important things about your own life changing experiences.

Commom Sense Marketing!

Commom Sense Marketing!

If your online, and in this business to make money, then we must talk about some of the things that will make the difference between a successful or failed marketing campaign. In the search engine optimization circles, we've all heard the saying "Content is King". If this is so, and it is, then why would anyone waste their time and efforts on doing anything other than providing well written, authoritative content for their web site. It makes total sense then, to write good copy with relevant keywords and keyword phrases strategically positioned within your sites content. Good keyword rich content will also draw quality links, back links and reciprocal links to your site.

The search engines, place an incredible amount of weight on the quality of the links in your site. Be very particular, on who you link to. Be very selective on reciprocal links, from sites that have no connection with the product or service that you're marketing.

You will gain some page rank with the search engines, just by linking your site to other sites, other sites linking to your sites, and link exchanging, however, don't become obsessed just with linking in your marketing strategies. There are many small sites, that will draw more traffic than a high page rank site, because of how the site is structured. Don't blame anyone but yourself, if other site with a lower page rank are actually converting some of your clients into sales for themselves. Why are they getting the conversions, and your not? Because they have used page ranking, as only one factor of their overall marketing strategy. You must incorporate many different factors of search engine optimization in your marketing campaign to see good, consistent results. Good page ranking is great for web site popularity, however, it may have little to do with generating traffic to your web site.

Don't be afraid to change your web site on a regular basis to make your site more effective. Make your keyword rich content, fresh and exciting. New content is what the search engine robots are looking for. The search engines loves new content, and will reward you with good rankings for your efforts. Just remember, it must be relative to your business opportunity, not just some off the wall information.

Keyword phrases can be very helpful in moving your site higher with the search engines. Most people don't just search for one word at a time. Users will incorporate several keywords into their query in order to obtain a more specific result from the search engines. Ex: If you searched for "hot dogs", you would get a very general response of hot dogs in general. However, if you would query "best hog dog in Chicago" you would get a very specific result. Use a combination of keywords and keyword phrases for best results.

When building your site, keep in mind the process of what we refer to in the business as "localization". People has a tendency to search for much of their online needs, in their local area. You can get very specific here, by focusing specific pages in your site to a particular City, County or State. By doing this type of laser focused marketing, you will see some good results rather quickly, compared to promoting with a broad brush approach strategy.

There are a number of different things you can include in your site, that will make the users come back often. You may want to include some items such as; a map with a description of how to get to your business, a couple of pictures of your business, or your friendly staff, and place some text links strategically within your content. Don't over do your site with a lot of pictures, maps or other non important things, that is not relevant to your business opportunity. These things are for the benefit of the potential clients. The search engines do not recognize pictures, maps of java script....only good key word rich content. As you can see from this example, you must have a good balance between information for the consumers, as well as a having your site optimized for the search engines.

It's important, to always keep search engine optimization tactics, in the fore front, when designing your web site. Don't be fooled by some who say that paid advertisements, is the only way to promote. It's not the only way. Construction of your site to be search engine friendly, will get you organic (not paid for ads) positions that will be much more effective. A well constructed web site without all the flash, scrolling text, and pictures, will be more effective with the search engines than a site with a lot of glitz and glitter.

Using keywords in the URL's and meta tags will help improve your rankings with the search engines. Before you go live with your site, make sure you have spell checked you entire site. Make sure, you have constructed your site with the proper grammar. Make sure all links, are live and referring the users to the page you intend for them to go to. Make sure you put a snippet of code behind your links, that will bring the customer back to your home page, when the user clicks off the link you pointed them to.

There's an incredible number of sites on the internet, that may be marketing the same or, similar product or service as you are. The user is going to choose the site, that best described the solutions, for their immediate needs. The site with the best information for the user, as well as being search engine friendly constructed, will be the winner.

Using Anchor Text In Marketing!

Using Anchor Text In Marketing!

What is Anchor Text? There are all many different opinions, on what an anchor text is, and what it's function in search engine optimization really is. The following is a quote; From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

"The anchor text, link label or link title is the visible, clickable text in a hyperlink. The words contained in the anchor text can determine the ranking that the page will receive by search engines. Since 1998, some web browsers have added the ability to show a tooltip for a hyperlink before it is selected. Not all links have anchor texts because it may be obvious where the link will lead due to the context in which it is used. Anchor texts normally remain below 60 characters. Different browsers will display anchor texts differently."

Most people assume the anchor text is related somehow to the actual text of the URL. This is not necessarily so, because an anchor text gives contextual information about where the link points. By giving a short, relevant, descriptive, informative summary of the site, will enhance the search results with the engines. Try to keep this description under sixty characters. This may sound confusing at first, however, if one looks at the overall concept of the anchor text and how it affects the results of a query, it starts to make a lot more sense. Once you understand about anchor text and their function in the algorithms the search engines, you will begin to understand why the engines put so much emphasis on this segment of optimization.

Some webmasters feel that by using the phrase "click here", will be adequate wording to produce goods results. I personally don't think agree with that theory. Others feel that putting "click here" instead of a descriptive name, is a poor search engine optimization practice. I totally agree that a descriptive name, is more search engine friendly. The search engines may look at a site that is linked with identical anchor text, and the position of that site may appear toward the top of the searches for that particular phrase. Search engines use anchor text, to index the content of a linked to site, especially, if the content of that site is relevant to what your talking about. Don't overuse a words or word phrase....you may be penalized for keywords stuffing, or spam.

As with any other issue, in search engine optimization, there are different concepts used by each marketing specialist you talk to. With the different opinions and the misunderstandings of this concept, almost anything stated, could be accepted as correct. You may have to do some research on your own, and come to a conclusion of what is the proper method of linking with anchor text in your particular situation. Since an anchor text is used in the algorithms for ranking purposes with most search engines, it is imperative we understand how anchor text are viewed by the different engines. What works with Google compared to Yahoo or Bing, can make the difference between a successful campaign, or a campaign that could be a total flop.

The purpose of the search engines is to find relevant information for the user on any subject matter queried. The objective of search engines is to provide highly relevant search results. This is where properly worded anchor text will help. Since the linked text may be pertaining to a splash page, the links are usually relevant. The search engines puts a great deal of emphasis on anchor text in ranking, combined with other algorithms in their ranking system. So use anchor text wisely and to your advantage.

By researching anchor text functions, and using some of the free Google Webmaster Tools, you can learn an incredible amount of information that will help you in your understanding of the anchor text concept. Successful webmasters have been using this process for a long time to earn high page rank results, for their clients with the various search engines.

Each webmaster has different ideas of what optimization may work, or not work with your business opportunity. Each web site is different, and requires some flexibility when optimizing your site. The more you understand, the better you can use the various aspects of search engine optimization to your advantage, when marketing your business opportunity. Understanding and using the various options we've discussed here, can be used to, earn Top Positions on Google, Yahoo and Bing. Search engine placement of your web site on the internet, will be the difference, of being found on the web, or not being seen at all. Poor page rank placement with the search engines will kill your opportunity to become successful online.

Basic Marketing Concepts!

Basic Marketing Concepts!

With more than 40 years of marketing experience, I have seen my share of success stories as well as many failures. For three decades I have taught people how to sell their products and services, by sharing informative information regarding what to expect in this ever changing world of marketing .

After retirement, I became involved with the internet aspect of this marketing process. I knew nothing about the working parts of the computer, and I still don't, however, I do know how to promote a product or service on the internet, and earn page one ranking positions with the search engines for my clients. The term, Top Positions on Google, is more than just a saying, it can, and has become a reality for me.

The art and science of online marketing is more perplexing than it used to be. However, many of the principles once used in effective marketing, still apply today. By overlooking the basic fundamentals of marketing, may make the difference between failure and success in many cases.

Successful marketing campaigns, is the result of the marketer not only knowing their product or service, but, knowing their target audience as well. By knowing how these two factors work together, you can be laser focused in all of your marketing endeavors. Once you understand this concept you will become profitable almost immediately.

The offer of a good product or service is the main ingredient for a successful marketing campaign. Having what the consumer likes, wants and needs, is the formula for a successful conversion rate into a sale. You must know your product or service forward and backward, and you must be able to be flexible, when a special need arises during your presentation.

Believing in your product is extremely important. If you don't believe in your product, enough to purchase the product yourself, how are you going to convince the client they need to buy what your selling. Consider purchasing a competitors product and running a comparison test on the two like items. This will give you confidence, that you are absolutely convinced, without a shadow of a doubt, your product is the best solution for your customer. You're not going to convince everyone to purchase the item your selling, however, you will build a repport with your prospects, who may refer you to some serious buyers.

If you're fortunate to find other creative people to work with you....this can be a tremendous asset to your success. Some of my best sales have came from a idea, that was shared in a meeting with some of my collegues. Once the idea was on the table for discussion, the pieces all started to fall into place and a solution was born. Not all the people in the meeting, got the concept or did anything with the idea, because they did'nt pursue the information discussed. Always keep a open mind, for new ideas.

The price of your product or service may become an issue. However, if you're well informed about your opportunity, you can present the client with the features and benefits of your product or services. Never bad mouth you competition. People will pick up on your negative comments and it will kill the sale quickly. By knowing your competition, you can present an informative comparison of the two products, then the client can make an informed choice. Hopefully, the decision will be in your favor. Don't sell price, sell value, as the benefits apply to the prospect. Price will then become a non issue.

Don't become closed minded and assume your way is the only way. Test your product, service and presentation, and make changes as needed to become the very best you can be. Then, after the sale, follow up and keep in touch with your clients, building a relationship, and trust with those clients. Your retention figures will then stay much higher, than if you make the sale and disappear. This is creating value after the sale.

Experience is something that can not be replaced. You can hire the best professionals, money can buy, however, nothing will replace actual experience. Experience comes by doing, doing it again, and redoing until you get it right. Go Luck in your marketing efforts.

How Search Engine Queries Work!

How Search Engine Queries Work!

When searching for something on the internet, we used to have to type in the www. prefix before the web site address. Now you can just type in the web address, and your query will be formatted properly. This has saved the search engines a considerable amount of bandwidth, and we've all enjoyed the speeds at which our query responds. The search engines are constantly improving their methods of use for the users. New search engine algorithms being implemented on a daily basis, has made the webmaster efforts more effective as well.

One question a lot of people ask, "how does the search engines get my information and rank me on the internet?" Let's talk about how the spiders gather information and how they put all this information into a workable search query function.

The search engines primary function is to find a web site online, and make that web site visible to the users who are searching for information regarding a product or service.

When the user, types in the search bar, some keywords or keyword phrase regarding a particular interest, the search engines will go into their databases for keywords regarding the query. The information the spiders has gathered from those millions and millions of web site around the world with that specific keyword or phrase then becomes very important. The engines will then come back with a list of web sites that have your query keywords in their web sites. Depending on what terms you searched, you can then expand your search to a more specific result, or you can expand your search by adding a broader term in your search. All of the results here, is from the lists of the related words the engines found in their databases relative to the keyword terms you typed into the search bar.

This procedure is often referred to as web crawling. The search engines are adding several million of new related words every day. If you have constructed a web site and have done your keyword research correctly, you will be indexed by the search engine, and when an individual searches for your product or services, your opportunity should appear. The goal here, is to have constructed your site correctly so that your site will come up as near to the top of a page one ranking as possible. Out of possibly millions of results for your search, it is really exciting for your site to be on page one of Google, Yahoo or Bing. You will get really excited, if you site is #1, page one on any of these listings.

The robots (spiders) are automated programs that are designed to crawl the millions of web pages on the internet and then feed this valuable information to the search engines for indexing the info into their databases in a variety of categories.

The spiders will start crawling the sites that are the most popular and has a lot of visitors to their sites. If will then work from most popular to the less popular sites, however, a good looking site that has not been optimized correctly, may not get indexed at all.

The spiders will look at the title of your site, your meta tags, and the keywords. If you have not posted the correct information in these area, your indexing results will not be good. Your links will then be spidered, for incoming and outgoing links. Make sure your links are live and relative. A good example would be: If you're a church site and you permit adult sites to link to your site, this is not good. I think you're beginning to see the picture here. The content of your site will be spidered for content relative to the keywords you put into the source code of your site. The source code is what the search engines look at, not pictures, flash or scrolling text. Content is King with the search engines. You must write for the search engines as well as for the users who are looking for your business opportunity.

When the search engines find links in your site, they will index those linked sites as well. Links and back links are crucial for you to become popular on the internet. Once the engines has indexed your information, then when a person queries for a product or service the engines will look for the keywords, links, title, meta tags etc. in their databases and display those findings on the results page for your viewing. Hopefully you will be on page one. If you don't appear on page one, most people won't go past page 2 or page 3, so you would need to work on your important areas such as; keywords, links etc. and try to improve on your content. When you make changes to your site, then hand submit your site to the search engines for indexing.

Different search engines uses different algorithms to determine the page ranking of your web site. Each engine will use a little bit different guidelines to determine the relevancy of your site. As a result you will be positioned differently in each of the major search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. Even if you use the same keywords in your search query, the results will all rank differently with the different search engines.

A word of caution here, don't try to put the same keyword over and over again in your content or source code, trying to make the engines pick up on a particular keyword in order to get a higher ranking. This is know as, keyword stuffing, and the engines frowns on this type of deception, and they will catch you very quickly, penalize you, by not giving you a high page rank, or maybe even ban you altogether from the web. It is nearly an act of congress, to gain your positions back once you pull a stunt like that, and the search engines bans your site. Understand the process, follow the process, and you will be rewarded extremely well for your diligent work.

Baby Boomers and Online Marketing!

Baby Boomers and Online Marketing!

The internet, is a massive library of information, on just about any subject you can think of. All of this information can be a bit overwhelming, especially for some of the baby boomers, who are trying to find a way to make additional income to supplement their dwindling retirement funds. Many of these individuals, have never explored the possibilities of the internet, but have heard how much money can be made online.

Don't become overwhelmed in this process of learning how to market online. It's going to take determination, dedication and patience to learn how this whole concept works. What you're going to have to understand is that the internet is a ever changing world. You're not going to become an expert overnight, however, you can learn the basic terminologies and aspects that must learned before you can build a successful online business.

You're going to make some mistakes in your learning process. This is normal, and to be expected. We've all had our share of misinformation, false promises and seen hundreds of scams that has left questions of how good internet marketing can really be. Once you take the time to learn how the internet works, how the search engines fit into your overall picture and how to effectively promote your business opportunity, then all the pieces of this huge puzzle will start to fall into place.

Let's talk for a minute about where do you start this whole new venture. There are numerous roads you can follow when learning the process of online marketing, such as purchasing a domain name, setting up a blog and the list can go on and on, however, we want to make this whole venture of learning as simple as possible.

There is only one way you can become proficient in this endeavor and that is to study anything and everything you can get your hands on regarding online marketing. There are different way you can to do your research. You can search the internet, visit your local bookstore and purchase marketing books, or go to your local library and study what is available. Opinions on online marketing are a dime a dozen, so you're going to have to keep in mind that much of the information your going to find is merely someone who is trying to promote their own business opportunity. After awhile you'll be able to tell the difference between good information and someone who is trying to get you to sign up in their deal.

Some of the issues you must understand early on in your research will be, information about effective web design, web practices, why web directories are important in marketing, develop some social networking skills, why is linking important, should you use classified ads etc.. These are all legitimate issues. All of these things are important ingredients for successful marketing, however, depending on your product or services, your priorities of these item will probably change over time because your business needs will change for one reason or another. Onine practices that was accepted as the norm a couple of years ago, may be obsolete today. The internet is a never ending learning process, so don't try to learn it all before you get involved or you will end up doing absolutely nothing.

The internet is a constant change of algorithms that the search engines uses for ranking. It is best to start out with something rather simple....like social networking. That's OK, because this is an excellent way for you to make contacts, friends, and potential clients for your new business venture. Once you conquered one of the basic aspects of the whole process, then add another segment and as you get more and more informed you'll see that your progression of knowledge can be applied to many aspects of marketing, in any venture now and in the future.

The learning curve here will vary from one individual to another. There is a vast amount of information you're going to cover before your going to be totally comfortable in your endeavors. Understanding what the search engines are looking for to give you a favorable page rank is an important lesson. The time and money you invest here is well worth what ever the cost. Without good rankings with the search engines, your opportunity will never be found on the internet. If you don't get recognized by the search engines, then you'll never be found by the potential users of your product or services.

We mentioned earlier in this article that it's going to take determination, dedication and patience before you will see this process all come together. If you are determined, good things will happen. If you will dedicate the time, money and effort to learn the process, it can happen rather quickly. You must have a lot of patience to learn this every changing process called the internet. These three required segments may be a bit different in each individual case, however, all three issues must be addressed for you to become the person you need to be to become successful with your new online venture. There are no shortcuts in this process. May God Bless You in your marketing efforts for online success.

Pursuing Home Based Business Dreams!

Pursuing Home Based Business Dreams!

Everyday we hear of a new business that suddenly pops up, and is making money hand over fist. We all say in unison, "Boy, Are They Lucky!" This successful event, didn't just happen folks.....It's actually a result of someone with a dream, a passion if you will, who has cultivated their dream for months, or even years, before we ever hear of their success.

Occasionally there will be someone who comes up with a new product, that takes the world by storm. However, most of the new businesses popping up, are nothing more than a person promoting an existing product or service, and adding their unique idea to the marketing aspect of that product.

One great example, is the famous fried chicken conglomerate, better known as KFC. Here was a gentleman who was involved in several different vocations during his working years, living the American dream. He also failed more than once, because he filed bankruptcy three times before he turned 65 years old. When he got his first retirement check, he took $100 and invited people to listen to his idea of, forming a fried chicken franchise, using his secret formula of herbs and spices to make the chicken taste better, than anyone else on the market. Did it work? I think so, because who do we think of when the question is ask.....who is fried chicken king of all time, there is only one answer. You may not like the chicken yourself, however, that's still who we all think of, when you're talking about fried chicken.

All of us have a dream, of coming up with that unique idea that will make us an icon, and permit us to make a ton of money. This is the American Dream we've all dreamed about at one time or another. Different circumstances has forced many of todays successful businesses to start their operations at a time when it didn't seem at all feasible. However, it did work. Circumstances that caused the right decision to be made at that particular moment and time, created another successful business.

As we shared with you in a recent article, Home Based Businesses, has been the life blood of the American economy since our great nation was founded. If a person is truly passionate about their future and the future of their family, sometimes it was necessary to take their last cent, refinance their home, borrow money from relatives, beg, borrow and steal to make their dreams a reality. Businesses fail, so why would anyone make such a drastic choice? Because those individuals are passionate about their dreams and will do just about anything, to fulfill that void in their life. Success must be earned....not just another government handout.

Maybe you're unemployed right now, maybe your disabled and can't go back to work in the same vocation you once enjoyed. You may be in deep debt, and see no way out, or just find it hard in these difficult economic times, to keep your head above water....now there's hope, if you're realistic and sincere about your dreams of success.

Some say that making money on line is simple, and anyone can do it. My friends, there is nothing further from the truth. I personally make a living online, but it has cost me an incredible amount of time and money to get where I am today. Starting out I spent 14-16 hours per day, learning the process, and cultivating my dreams of being an online success. My first year, I didn't make a dime. I was like a dog chasing it's tail, I was getting nowhere, but I was determined to make it happen. I spent an incredible amount of money on worthless junk programs, that promised me the world. Naturally, it didn't happen that way. I was like most individuals who are marketing challenged, I didn't know what to do. I didn't know where to turn. I didn't know where to find the answers. If this is sounding the least bit familiar, then you are in the norm here....not the exception.

I literally spent months, looking for something that I felt comfortable representing, or putting my name on. My first vision of what I wanted to do online, is so different, than what it is today. I prayed many times, and promised God that if he would help me learn this process, I would share my knowledge with those who where sincere in their desires for success. You too, can make it happen if you put your heart, mind and soul into your dreams. They will come true.

Now is an excellent time, to get involved with online marketing. There has been countless millionaires made on line. The time is now, to become involved in the dreams of your future. Do your research, work out a realistic business plan, commit to your future and begin today to make it all happen for you and your family. Work hard and build your own Home Based Business the right way, and it will work for you in the future.

By having your own home based business, you will have flexibility in your work schedule, working in the comfort of your own home, anywhere in the world. Once your online business is set up and running smoothly on auto pilot, you can be a bit more flexible, and enjoy the finer things in life. Like, playing golf when you want, going to the opera, spending time with the family and kids, going on an extended vacation or anything else you may want to do. This can happen because you made it all happen! What a tremendous reward, for a job well done. Finally you will get the rewards you so richly deserve.

Basic Home Based Business Ideas!

Basic Home Based Business Ideas!

In yesterday's article, we discussed some of the benefits that entices a person to start their own home based business. If you've decided to look further into the home based business idea, then, we must cover some of the basic issues you must address early in your new marketing venture.

The internet as we know it today is changing at a phenomenal pace. Things that we do today online, may be obsolete within a matter of days or weeks. The conventional business plans that applied to last years market, has changed substantially. This is happening due to the demands that business and individuals are putting on the business sector of our economy. More and more individuals are turning to the internet as their main source of income, or to generate a second income, or both.

With the uncertainty of the job market today, (which is the worst since the Great Depression) companies are down sizing, loosing business to foreign countries, forcing the older seasoned workers to take a cut in wages or benefits, replacing the older employees with new younger blood in an effort to save money. All these factors, is changing the global work force as we once knew it.

As a result of the above mentioned changes, more and more people are turning to the internet for solutions. There is a process that this new group of individuals must follow if they want to succeed online. First of all, they must choose a product or service that they feel can be marketed to the masses on the internet. This can be quite a chore if a person is a bit computer challenged. An extensive research should be done by a prospective internet marketer, to find that niche market that they are comfortable with. Once you find that product or service, then the fun begins.

You should find an individual or organization that offers some form of newbie training. Knowledge is vital to your online success. Just having a basic knowledge of how to turn on the computer, check your emails, chat with your friends, play some online poker doesn't really matter. Once you commit to marketing online, you must learn how to promote your business opportunity, or you'll never make a nickle online.

There are many free programs available that will help you in your marketing career, however, learning the process of marketing is far more important than clicking on a button and seeing a bunch of activity happening that you don't have a clue of whether anything important is happening or not. Some search engines will even penalize you for using some programs to promote your business online. It's up to you to find out which of these programs are questionable and which ones are legitimate.

Creating a workable website is vital to your success. We're talking here about being compliant for the search engines, yet interesting enough to the visitors, for them to make the commitment to become a client. Your website is the windows to your online store. Without some knowledge of how to construct a search engine friendly site, you may never see any traffic to your website at all.

A page one ranking is the goal of every successful online marketer, however, few will ever enjoy that high of ranking. If you build your site with a lot of flash, pictures, scrolling text, java script and junk html code, the search engines will not reward you with a high page rank. In fact, the engines probably won't rank you at all. Why? Because the site is not optimized for the search engines, it's designed for eye appeal. There is a balance here, but you will have to study, and gain the knowledge on how to look for the key features required by the various engines. This is an ongoing process, because of the ever changing algorithms the search engines use for their rankings.

If you search the internet, you can find all kinds of promises regarding website design. Some of these sites are good, however, some of these designs have absolutely no value what so ever, because the don't have the features required to make the site engine friendly. If you take the time, to acquire the basic knowledge of html code, web design, effective linking strategies etc., you can build your own search engine friendly site, and still make the site have appeal to the users who visit your site.

Building your own website is a great and rewarding experience, however, building a site is just the first step to a successful online experience. You must have your site hosted somewhere, you must be able to FTP any changes or updates to a server, you must promote your site effectively, plus a vast array of other duties to get recognized online. If you don't understand the processes we've discussed here, I recommend you find a mentor who can help you learn the process. Once you learn the process, you will be able to use this knowledge for any venture you may want to promote in the future.

Some of the duties we've discussed above, will require some hardware. You must also acquire knowledge, on how to complete the duties we've shared in this article. If you don't have the time, or just plain don't want to learn, then you must secure the services of a professional if you want to enjoy online success.

The process of marketing online is going to take commitment and dedication on your part. Good information and products are not cheap, and cheap information and products may be of no value at all. Do your research, and then make an informed decision about your online future. Spend your time and money wisely.

Home Based Business Oppportunities!

Home Based Business Oppportunities!

With todays high unemployment, uncertainty of the economy, government regulations and health care that the government is trying to cram down our throats, there's no wonder more and more people are looking for way to supplement their incomes. Just today, I heard a Senator on TV say, "this is the worst recession, since the Great Depression" That is really scary, when you stop and think about it for a moment! There are a vast number of working and retired individuals who are just plain fed up with all of the uncertainties of life, and are looking for ways to supplement their retirement income.

Working from home, in your own home based business is one solution that makes a lot of sense. If you're one of those who is fed up with your monotonous job, your grumpy boss, or the lazy co-workers who are there just for a pay check, then you should consider going in business for yourself. There are a number of things you need to be aware of before you make this huge plunge.

As long as you're working in a business that is owned by someone else, you're going be faced with the possibility of down sizing, layoffs, commuting to and from work, buying lunch and your negative list can go on and on. The possibilities of starting your own home based business may start looking pretty good, and be your answer to the situations in your life.

There are so many businesses available online, that a person can literally choose from thousands of good opportunities. Not all of these businesses are going to be appealing to every individual. However, with a little bit of research, you will find a niche market that you may familiar with. Because of your past working experiences, you may relate to one of these businesses and be able to see the positive values much quicker, than if you try to go into a online business category, that you are totally unfamiliar with.

You may not feel comfortable by just chunking your current job, and going for the gold, however, you could do most of your preliminary work and construction of your business plan, find a product or service and build your website. If you're forced to make a change, because your employer down sized, you get laid off, or your choose to make a change, then you would be in a position to make the transition rather quickly. Who knows how much money you could possibly make in the interim. Remember, all the expenses you incur in this process, is tax deductible. Save your receipts for your tax preparer.

In your home based business, you may be involved marketing your products or service on line. We call that in the industry, online marketing, which is a separate business in itself. Building a website and constructing it correctly can be a challenge for most individuals. However, there is help available, on the internet. Just building a site and putting it online, will take you nowhere, unless, you get the help you need to optimize your offering for the search engines as well as the readers that come to your site inquiring about your business opportunity. Don't hesitate to seek some assistance from a marketing professional, if you need to.

The main thing here is to understand that you will be your own boss, you will make the decisions, you will be the one totally responsible for everything that happens in your organization, whether it's good or bad. You must be able to step up to the plate and take the hard knocks if your choices are bad. If your choices are good, you will be the one who will be able to enjoy the benefits of all the right choices as well. This is what it's all about when you work for yourself. Many home based businesses have become so profitable, that it was necessary to expand very quickly into a fairly good size company. Wouldn't that be a good problem?

There are no guarantees in a home based business, it's all up to you. There are organizations who can offer assistance in your learning process, so choose your mentors wisely, and apply what you learn to become a professional in your field of expertise. You can put a time limit on when you are going to make this change, however, never place a time limit on your success in your new venture. You can earn a living on the internet, it's your choice. Who you get involved with, what product or services you choose, when you're going to make the plunge, where do you start the process of learning are all legitimate questions. The final question is why are you doing this change? Always Remember...This change....must be for you, and your families future.

As we pointed out in yesterdays article, "This Gig is NOT for Everybody". The faint of heart, probably shouldn't even consider such a venture as we're discussing here. The percentages of online success are rather slim, however, if you have the desire, determination and drive, you too can be one of the successful ones in this remarkable journey, better known as "internet marketing."

Maintaining Good Page Rank with the Search Engines!

Maintaining Good Page Rank with the Search Engines!

When you submit your web site information to the search engines for indexing, your site doesn't appear online instantly, as some would lead you to believe. Search Engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing have to sort through millions of pages, and compile the information from these pages and transfer this data into their databases. This is an automated process that goes through billions of pages, using their latest guidelines, verifying a host of algorithm factors in order to index your site correctly. All this is done in order to establish a page rank, for each site that the spiders has gathered information from.

If you see your site rankings bouncing up and down, don't get to excited. Sometimes it take a little additional time for the new rankings to appear. If you check your standings again later in the day, your page rank may have changed. If your site drops, and stays low, then is when you need to start paying close attention to why your site has dropped, and stayed there.

You've been working extremely hard on your web site, optimizing the site to the best of your ability, and you finally reached a page one Google ranking for your efforts. What a feeling of accomplishment, when that moment occurs. Now that you've reached that goal, your work has just started. To keep a Top Position with Google sometimes is as hard, or even harder, to maintain your rankings, than it was getting to a top position in the first place. The algorithms of the search engines changes continually, so you must keep on working, to make sure your site maintains a high page rank.

It may seem unimportant, that once you've earned that top position, and your ranking is pretty stable, that you must continue to monitor you rankings and make changes as needed. I personally monitor my standings several time a day. I want to know if there have been substantial movement on my rankings. If there is a dramatic drop, I will start researching the reasons for this sudden change. Check you status often, and don't let it get out of hand. It's rather difficult to try to play catch up, after a drop in rankings, particularly if you've let if go for a while. Page Ranks can drop quickly, and without notice, so pay close attention here.

All of us have competition out there, and your competitors are all striving to gain those top positions too. Some of the major companies have employees, that their only function in the organization is to keep the company on page one, as near to a #1 position as possible. There is a certain amount of credibility you enjoy, by being #1 on Google in a specific keyword category, however, there is only one, #1 position available. You must fight very hard to maintain a high ranking position on all of the search engines.

The function of the search engines is to index your opportunity. If your site is configured correctly, well written, has a well balanced keyword density, meta tags correctly configured and all the other good things within their algorithms, you may have a chance of gaining those top positions. However, since the search engines are constantly changing the criteria they use to rank web sites, it may be sometimes rather difficult to keep up with the search engines rapid changes. Just remember, for the search engines, it's a matter of numbers, for you it's a matter of making money online. When you discover this perfect balance, you will be one of the few, who actually make money on the internet. Last report I saw was that, less than 3% of people on line make money. You too can be one of this elite group.

The purpose of this ever changing strategy with the search engines, is to prevent web site owners from trying to manipulate their system, in an attempt to get a higher page rank, than what they rightly deserve. This is the main reason you must monitor your site position daily and keep with with this ever changing search engine process. This is a prime example, "If you snooze, you loose."

Most site owners try to maintain this balance manually, which is a very time consuming, tedious ongoing task for most, however, there are some automated systems that can assist you in this daunting task. This author does NOT endorse or recommend any particular companies product, for this process. Go online and search for this type of tool....then do your due diligence, and then, make an informed choice of whether automation is for you.
